Hi. Just signed up. My first time on here. Mom was just diagnosed with Alzheimers. I am not sure what my steps are to get her everything she needs and where I can obtain from a financial point and medical care (medicaid??, walker, assistance) She lives alone and is in early to mid stage. Any suggestions? We live in NY. Are…
I was diagnosed last year with CSVD, but for about the last 3 years, I’ve gotten angrier, losing my short term memory, so much to the point where I can’t even hold proper conversations, because I’m often getting in arguments with my adult children, and often can’t remember what it was about. Is this common with CSVD? Thank…
Hello, I was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in October at the age of 49. I've had the the test and it does show I have one variance of the APOE/4 gene and the only kind of Alzheimer's we have my family is on my mom's side and they were diagnosed in their middle to late '70s. This is just been a shock I knew…

I have tested positive for PSEN1 which is one of 3 variants known to cause young onset Alzheimer’s. I have had cognitive symptoms since August 2023. I…
My DH doesn’t remember anything that has happened in the last 20 years. We are going to need to be moving soon. One minute he seems more normal. After 30 minutes, he has already forgotten us talking about moving. Everything and I mean everything is falling on my shoulders. This move is going to be incredibly difficult. DH…
I think others have mentioned this but I take advantage of PWD's inability to remember in order to avoid problems. For example, PWD tries to peel label off of a bottle (salad dressing, or whatever), but fails since it's difficult and can make a mess or spill things in the process by forgetting to cap the bottle. Rather…
Hi- I just saw my mom (85) in another state. The decline is significant. Day of the week Where's my (various items)? Where is (various people)? I knew it was coming. But I'm so overwhelmed.
Family had a big birthday party for DH (ALZ). I was afraid that it would be too much for him but he had the time of his life and at age 90, he danced every dance. The only think that I noticed was when 2 of the grandsons came over to the house before the party and spent time alone with him. He was telling some of his life…
