Incontinent at night
From giving him less water after like 5pm , taking him to restroom every 2-3 hours , depend underwears with blue lining that turns to a gel on contact with urine. It’s a battle to get him to the bathroom especially at night time and he keeps resisting us
and we r trying to take him so that he doesn’t mess up all the sheets. It’s like a mess almost every night.
Please give us some advice, it’s very tiring to do this every night along with doing laundry every day and night
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi Farah 2023, I've been a caregiver in the past for people in there homes for 25 plus yrs. I'm currently taking care of my mom that just moved in with me. I'm very fortunate that she is still able to get up at night and use the bed side potty. Now for your Dad, you say he is in incontinent. Do you happen to have cloth chucks or pads on his bed at night like they use in the nursing facility? If not them get you some. That will keep his bed dry at night. If you have to double them on his bed. Lay them side by side,or overlap them. I would also by some men's pads to put inside his depends to help protect him more. If he isn't aware of things then by women's poise pad instead. You can get more of them than you can the mens. But the men's might be cheaper. Then I would let him lay all night long, and when you get him up in the morning, wash him up and put a new depend on him. Don't fill bad about doing this, I took care of a lady thst her daughter did this with her mother. That way you are not fighting him to get him to the potty, and you and your sister are getting your sleep as well as him. And you are not about to loose your mind over this. That's what they do in the nursing facility. They are not changing them all night long. They get them up around 7:00am and change them, get them cleaned up and ready for breakfast by 8:00am. You should be able to find them on Amazon. Or if you have a medical supply store around you that sell's the equipment they should carry them also. You can buy paper one's as well to put on top of the cloth one's, but I think they are a waste of money. I hope this helps you. This is the only thing that I can think of that might help you.
