Today, for the first time, Ralph wet himself during the day. I've recently started putting him in a pullup at night, but leaving him in normal briefs during the day. He wet the diaper overnight. And then he wet his pants this afternoon. He couldn't get his pants down in time. Prior to last week he hadn't had any urinary accidents and only a few bowel accidents. This was his 4th accident this week. I feel like we just took a big slide down this slippery slope. It's so hard to know what's coming because FTD seems to have its own wonky schedule.

Ugh. Make that 5th. I hate this. For him and me.

I'm starting to come back to the site @Jeanne C. and I saw your post.

Everyone is different, of course, but Peggy didn't really start becoming incontinent until later stage 5 (I don't know where Ralph is). But when she did, it was much as you described - a one-off here, a one-off there, and then suddenly they weren't one-offs anymore. It was the "new normal". I've always thought of the one-offs as "harbingers".

Hey GG. How are you? Been thinking of you and Peggy.

Ralph's stage 6. I felt the same way, that the accidents were a sign of things to come. But now I feel like it's here, if that makes sense. But we'll adapt and deal because that's what we do.

@Jeanne C. Yep, makes total sense. And yeah, we adapt, no choice but to.

I'm okay, thank you. Just dealing with everything - as do we all.

I hope all is peaceful in your world.

Bob was in diapers a couple of weeks ago when he was getting over some excessive diarrhea following a bout with constipation, but now he's back to not wearing them. My biggest issue with him is that about once a week (sometimes more) he will get up in the night and use very random places to urinate! Last week it was on a boxed puzzle I was getting ready to put away, and this week, twice he urinated in one of my kitchen drawers! Never any rhyme or reason...just random spots.

I'm thinking of placing him in May, the stress is just getting to be too much for me. I have to decide either to place him or quit my job, I can't take care of him and work any more.

You know if you're seriously considering placement, it's probably time. You need to take care of yourself. And placement is most likely the best way to take care of Bob. Sending you strength.

My hold out on placement has been finances. I got a raise on friday so now I know that I will be able to support myself after I place him. It is a surreal feeling knowing that I'm actually going to start preparing for moving him to MC.
