PWD not sleeping at night

I’m new here and in desperate need of support. My dad has had dementia for several years but only in the last 6 weeks has it progressed out of the mild stage and the decline has been really dramatic. I moved him into memory care about 3 weeks ago and they report he is not sleeping at night. They had him on 4-5 anti-anxiety and antidepressant meds to help but they weren’t doing the trick. I asked them to stop all those (he’d never been on them before) because he seemed “doped up” during the day and the plan is to see what he’s like without the meds and then go from there. Meanwhile, the in-house doc is still concerned that he’s not sleeping at night but doesn’t seem to have any new ideas. I suggested trying melatonin… anything else that’s working for people when anti-anxiety meds aren’t?
