Can Dementia cause physical pain that is not seen in a test?

Hi. My Dad is mid to late stage Alzheimers and was just admitted to the hospital for severe chest pain, but they see no signs of a hear attack, etc. and EKG is normal. Can dementia cause a person to feel pain that is not necessarily "real?"

I don't know about pain and I've noticed my mom has sensory issues she never used to have. She complains that all of her clothes are too tight, even when they are falling off of her. It's also a huge fight to get her to put on socks as she then says her shoes are too tight. So maybe this is related? Though, your situation sounds much more stressful as you never know when it could be real. Sorry you're dealing with that!
