My DH seems to have entered a new phase. Once previously content to just sit in his wheelchair, he’s now constantly saying he needs to go somewhere (to the mall, to take a walk, to the office, etc.) and tries to get out of his chair. I’ve tried to change subjects, distract him with something else, but to no real avail. If he were just talking, it would be less of a concern, trying to get out of his wheelchair is concerning. At one point, he said I couldn’t tell him what to do. I had been comfortable doing chores around the house, but now I feel like I need to be close enough to watch him to make sure he doesn’t somehow fall out of his chair. He is very unstable on his feet and can’t walk independently. Any ideas?
