Is It Dementia or Aphasia
my husband has Frontotemporal Alzheimer’s Dementia and Primary Progressive Aphasia. It seems to me his symptoms are the PPA more than the dementia. Is that possible? How do I tell the difference?

New Caregiver - Venting
Hi. I've just recently become caregiver for my mom (62yo). She does not formally have a diagnosis but the doctors she has seen suspect some form of dementia, likely frontotemporal, though they cannot tell which for sure. She has some issues with memory but her most prominent symptoms are word salad (forgetting the…

Today's Win
After some conversations with my state senator (and her super nice aide) the state of Delaware passed a resolution today naming September 22-29, 2024 FTD Awareness Week. It was oddly emotional to be there to see it pass.

Grieving my dad
Hello everyone, I'm new here and I hope it's ok for me to post here even though I'm not a caregiver. I'm 24. My parents are both in their early 60s and my mom is my dad's primary…

Newbie looking for advice
My 64 year old husband was formaly diagnosed with FTD a couple of months ago. It seems to be progressing so so fast. He's ambulatory but needs help with some ADLs. We found a great doc. We're working with an elder care attorney to get our ducks in a row. He's starting adult day care in the coming weeks (I work full-time…
