Hi, I'm new. My wife is 77 and received her diagnosed about a year and a half ago. Her driver's license has been cancelled by the state. Her memory is slipping and she gets aggravated easily. She uses a walker in and out of the house. She also has some difficulty sometimes with dressing. She was a Commercial Banker. She just started dropping things. I'm not what stage she is in. I'm her caregiver. I just need a place to vent. We have been married 44 years.

    hi Big Papa,

Welcome, I understand how you feel, my mother is the same way. Please pace yourself, and remind yourself that it’s the disease and not your wife. Know that you’re not alone, the people here are great.

I can relate. My DH will be 77 in a few weeks. He was diagnosed a little over a year ago with VD and AD. We have been married 44 years it will be 45 years next month . He also is easily aggravated. He has a lot of trouble dressing. Sometimes he lets me help but often he screams at me if I try to help. I wish I had some cheerful advice or news for you. All I can say is that neither one of us are alone in this and chances are we aren't experiencing anything new or different. I keep myself mostly sane by sneaking out of the house at night and riding the electric scooters. Sometimes I ride my bike. I have been forced to give up working and a social life and many things that I enjoy. I find joy where I can.
