i take care of my mother who is in the late stages of dementia and can not care for herself. She cant walk and she is mean and fights me on everything. i have tried to talk slowly and softly, explain what im doing and it does not matter she moves and makes more of a mess on her and also hits and kicks. What else can i do?

I know that many people say they will not mediate their relative. However, she is upset and maybe her physician can prescribe a med that will take the edge off her behavior. She would be less unhappy. Without that, not only might you be injured but she could hurt herself flailing.
