New to Group


My DH, age 80 was diagnosed with VD a few years ago. He recently lost his license when we found out his neurologist put down he had ALZ. Asked the doctor why he didn't discuss this with us and took our head out of the sand by explaining that the drug trial he had been in was for people with ALZ. Unfortunately, we had to leave the study as he needed a heart stent in the 1 valve that was not replaced when he had 5 bypasses 2 1/2 years ago. We have noticed in the last 2-3 months a real slipping of his memory and he has to read things very slowly to understand them and complains that when things are written on the TV it goes away to fast. Unfortunately, we are not surprised he had ALZ as his mother and grandmother had it, but not his older sister. I am fortunate that my daughter lives near us, has a lot of patience as she is a therapist, and is always willing to help me. As I am mentally, just starting this journey I don't know what the future will hold.
