Never been so exhausted

I am new to this forum. My mom has alz and vascular. I have been taking care of her since she was diagnosed 4 years ago. My husband retired early so he could help me(last September)

Over the past 1 1/2 years she has gotten progressively worse. I had no idea how much harder that it was going to be as time went on.

I sleep with her every night because she is scared to sleep alone. My husband and i are both exhausted-mentally and physically. I am constantly on the verge of tears.

We just started getting a caretaker for 3 days a week for 4 hours a day. We are still so tired.

Just wondering is anyone else out there feeling the same?

    You are definitely not alone.

MIL has alz and vascular. If there is a dual diagnosis, this is the most common. And yes, it will only be progressive, and it is hard.

Just throwing an idea out that came to mind… Just wondering - and this is a long shot - if maybe one of those robotic kitties would help at night?

Also - check if a local MC has a respite program for caregivers. Sometimes they can take your LO for a few days or so and you can get a much needed break.
