I told my son to come see it. He didn't get close to it. A while later, I said "I don't believe you're afraid of a praying mantis." He said "I"m not afraid of it.". I had a large bottle, and told him to put it in the bottle. He said "You put it in the bottle."

Didn't know that. I haven't seen one in years.

We have lots and I have found them stalking around our hummingbird feeders. There are videos of them catching hummingbirds.

I hope you didn't kill it!  I had one at my door a few years ago.  They seem to be going extinct!

Ed, sorry I had to laugh when your son said you get it!

Iris we have a lot of praying mantises!

Steward you are so right they can kill hummingbirds. I have a little over 50 feeders out and we love sitting outside watching them. I do keep an eye on my feeders because we also have too many of praying mantis.

Nope. I don't kill anything without reason. It's still out there.

I had no idea they'd kill a hummingbird! I have a dozen feeders out all over, and I've seen several praying mantises this year. I'm going to have to relocate those I find by my feeders!

Ed, your son's reaction cracks me up. My son is scared of grasshoppers.... he had a tramatic experience with one many years ago while riding his tricycle. LOL

I just saw a gecko!  I wanted to get a photo but a dog came along and scared it away.  Perhaps I'll see it tomorrow and can get a photo.
