My daughter suggested I might want to read this book. I'm glad she did. It is the story of a professional couple in Vancouver, Canada and how they found out about and dealt with her Alzheimer's diagnosis. I read the first chapter in the online preview pages and immediately ordered a copy. For anyone interested it is available in digital or paperback on Amazon and other book sellers.

I am married DE JURE but not DE FACTO,

de facto refers to situations that are true for practical reasons,
whereas de jure refers to formal, official status of the matter.

As a lawyer  I am very comfortable with this  I  am a fiduciary trustee for my wife in every way

But she is no longer my partner or companion.
She has not known who I am for almost 5 years.
Without "partnership" marriage is just a legal hollow shell
     I'm an Alzhemer's widow.
Is it easy, no.  DW was a wonderful woman,  There was magic in the relationship.
I know lots of women but feel no magic.

The little edited photo is from the 1970s   She was a bridesmaid at the wedding of two members of our wedding party.  We had been married 3 months, When we got back to our apartment as I unlocked the door she looked at me with a mischievious smile and said  Didn;t you ever want to XXXX a bridesmaid at a wedding? I said "I thought of it"  She said "close the door"

    That's magic
