Today is the first day of fall. This is a good time to review fall awareness and fall prevention. Falls can be deadly in older adults, even in those without dementia.

    I visited my elderly neighbor's home and slipped on her throw rug and almost fell. She insisted that she had no trouble with the rug. But it's gone now.
