Funny, not funny

MIL lost her dentures. She doesn’t realize they’re gone and she’s eating well, so I’m not subjecting her to a visit to the dentist. The staff at her MC is really upset, even though I’ve assured them it’s no biggie. They’ve searched everywhere - they even checked all the other residents’ mouths! I swear sometimes I think I’ll wake up and find out it was all a Woody Allen movie.

    Thank you for sharing. Isn't this one of those 'don't ask don't tell' situations? MIL doesn't miss her teeth and is eating, that's a win. Who knows where they will turn up - under a sofa cushion, pocket of a coat, behind the bed - the possibilities are endless. Maybe we all are in a Woody Allen movie!!!

    My grandmother wrapped things in Kleenex and threw them out. Perhaps that's where they are. :-)

    My FIL threw away his lowers on trash pickup day. Realized it at bedtime. VA is booked far out & says community care referral could take a week or two & they're booked out a bit too. FIL is obsessed with me driving him to his dental appt now & cannot comprehend it's a waiting process right now.

    My worry is he can no longer give good feedback during the fitting process. It was a year & half process during early stages when he got the new lowers. I honestly dread going through this.

    One day at a time, I suppose.
