Hello All

I heard from the Director of Nursing and they are moving my Mom to MC for meals. To assist her with feeding. Yes, my mom has been having issues with feeding herself . Is this "normal"… to be honest, I don't know what is normal anymore… but is this usually done? Will full time MC be next?

Thank you

You are lucky they are being so flexible. Normally, if they need ANY MC services they are forced into full MC. AL is not meant to help feeding at meals, but she may be doing very well with other ADLs. Yes, as her skills deteriorate it will be necessary for her to go to MC

Hi @terei thanks for the response. No, my mom isn't doing well with ADLs.. hospice has been on board for almost a year, she is fulltime in a Broda chair. When I spoke to the hospice Chaplin, she was honestly surprised that it was my Mom they moved to MC for meals vs my Dad. She felt my Dad had a harder time feeding himself. I'm really happy there, they seem to be on top of things and the hospice team that is in place is great, too. I'm wonder if its just a availability issue…. not sure how full their MC unit is. Almost afraid to ask!

Its just always something. Just when you think things are under control. IDK, just one day at a time. Thank you again.
