DH has macular degeneration plus Alz, its increasingly hard for him to complete a really nice shave. He mostly only shaves once a week, that is OK, his whiskers are not thick and would never be a good beard. I'm looking for tips to help him and eventually take over the weekly cleanup. He uses basic razors, some of them have refillable blades, some are disposable but he uses more times than he should. I just don't want to nick his skin, but its hard to know how to maneuver the wrinkles around his nose and mouth, etc…. I did ask him if he had ever used an electric razor, maybe he did years ago, so it doesn't seem to be his first choice.

I'm going to check out the Gillette Trio too, I shave my DH most mornings. I try to make it a lovely affair I use his soft bristle brush given to him by our son, (so very special) and a lavender-smelling shaving cream. I use his Gillette razor and replace the blades every couple of days to keep them sharp, he has quite a heavy growth, then a hot flannel on the face at the end, this is the bit he loves the most once you become proficient at shaving its quite quick which is good. Good luck.

Years ago, I told my children that, if the day comes that I can no longer shave myself, I don't want anyone else doing it for me. Just let my beard grow and trim it with scissors from time to time. My wife shaved me once and I hated it.
