Update on bringing him home

I brought my DH home from MC a month ago, after he had been there for a year. So far it is going reasonably well. It's tiring and stressful, of course, but nowhere near as bad as it was a year ago. Between new meds and, probably, the progression of the disease, he is calmer and easier to redirect. He's usually sweet and funny and loving, responding well to hugs and kisses and 'I love you.' I feel better having him home, and I think that he is doing as well or better than he was in MC. It also helps our finances a lot.
We still go forward a day at a time. He sleeps a lot — sometimes 16 hours a day — which gives me time to myself and to get other stuff done. He goes to daycare twice a week for 7 hours.
I'm isolated, as we all are, by not being able to travel or go anywhere without him. He pees in odd places. He rambles on about all kinds of imaginary things. It's not the life I want, but it's better than it was.

Hi Jazzma that is lovely to hear well done to you, how brave to bring him home, thank you for the update, I have wondered how it was going. It’s such a difficult disease to manage, the thought for me to be parted with my DH is too much to bear and yet it is so hard and isolating at home.

Thank you for the update! 2x a week for day care gives you some breathing room and not as expensive as MC. At least you know what to expect if you did need the MC again . Well done jazzma, one day at a time……
