Hyperfocus on a Topic

My DW gets hyper focused on topics particularly when events, trips are forthcoming. She asks many times over a day/days regarding the calendar, who is coming, whats next etc. Writing it down, reviewing a calendar, white board or sticky notes isn't working as she knows to ask but can't retain the answer causing anxiety. Any ideas?

Just pretend you're working the information desk at the mall and calmly answer the question every time it is asked as if it were a different person asking each time.
I don't tell my wife when things are coming up, just to avoid that. "Let's get in the car and go to . . ." is notice enough.

I don't put them on the main calendar until an hour before it's time to leave.

We are much further along but I dealt with that in the earlier stages. I ultimately ended up informing DW less and less about plans. I ended up just gradually reducing the time between informing her of the event and the actual event. These days, we don't plan things, we just do things.

Ditto many of the answers here. Earlier on I would tell DH when his sister or someone else was coming (a couple of months away). I thought it would give him something to look forward to. Then he would ask a million times when, who, etc. and it got frustrating for me. Now I don’t tell him plans until very close to the event. Even if I say our friends are picking us up in an hour, he will go outside to wait right away and then get irritated when they don’t come. So now I’m making my announcements much later!

Yes same as Carl46 and the others I avoid telling my DH until the last minute. He actually heard me on the phone to our daughter this morning and kept asking when was I going out I had to keep repeating that we were going together for morning tea. Good luck
