Does anyone have a suggestion for getting DH to the neurologist? I called to get an official letter from DH neurologist but they said he hasn’t been seen in 11months and he needs to be reevaluated. I explained I needed some documentation for the police. So she fit us in on Monday, but should I tell him the appointment is with his neurologist or maybe something else. She said since he won’t take his aricept or Zoloft we’ll have to try something else to calm him. I appreciate all your advice and I know I should have had him evaluated that night or the next day but it’s so hard to pull that trigger. I’m trying to keep him here, but my heart is overruling my intelligence. Maybe I’m finally realizing he is really sick because the turmoil from him calling 911 on me still has me shaking and perhaps it propelled me into action. I feel like such a terrible person tho. Thank you again for listening💕💜

you are NOT a terrible person. You are loving, caring and strong. Like all of us, you are doing the best you can do with these unfortunate circumstances. Maybe you can tell him Medicare requires this appointment to keep health coverage? I would be very careful when you ask him in case he reacts. Have a plan. Keeping an open mind about the possibility of placement. You are important and need to be safe and have a life. Hoping all works out

does he have a primary physician or has there been a hospital stay where it’s noted in his records? I was surprised to see it noted in my husbands records recently.

IMHO your health and well being are just as important as your DH - I know it's hard but if you can't take care of yourself you can't take care of him - The disease is the problem and the one's who suffer are you and your DH - You BOTH must be SAFE - I wish you the best!!
