RFK Jr says corruption at NIH is the SOLE REASON there isn’t a cure for Alzheimer’s:

“For 20 years, because of utter corruption and fraud, we were directing Alzheimer’s research to one hypothesis, and any other hypothesis was shut down.

We should have the cure for Alzheimer’s today. We don’t have it PURELY because of corruption at NIH. And we are going to have it quickly.” 💜🙏.

I wonder how he will change it? Who will do the research and with what money? I wish there was a cure! I follow news out of the Netherlands who seem so much further not only in research but how they care for dementia. Nobody in the world has a cure right now so not sure we can blame corruption at NIH. If only that was the hold up

I am no fan of RFK, Jr., but his remarks about Alzheimer's may have a point. The amyloid hypothesis has not done much to explain the disease or create really effective therapies.

Ed1937 posted something here yesterday that bears reading: <https://scitechdaily.com/scientists-discover-hidden-cause-of-alzheimers-hiding-in-plain-sight/>.

A recent study has revealed that a gene previously identified as a biomarker for Alzheimer’s disease is not just a marker, it is a direct cause of the disease. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego discovered that the gene plays a previously unrecognized secondary role that actively drives the development of Alzheimer’s. Using artificial intelligence, the team was able to uncover this hidden function and identify a potential therapeutic strategy to block the gene’s harmful activity.

thank goodness someone is talking about Alzheimer’s and reminding all we need to find a cure or prevention. Whether we like RFK or not, the fact he is talking about this and bringing awareness is better than nothing

Thank you for pointing out that credibility has to be considered. The source here is definitely not someone I would ever listen to!
