I realized I cant take care of 2 dementia patients on my own. So now I need to get agreement from my Dad to go into the nursing home. I spent 8 hours today dealing with them, doc appoints, falls, ambulances, hospitals - all in one day. I can't take all this stress. Its destroying me.

I’m so sorry. Know that you are not alone. Even when it feels like you are. There’s a whole lot of us out here that are here for you. Hoping you can get some rest tonight if possible. Take care.

I haven't been with this forum long, but it's a huge comfort. I think we've all been where you at one time or another. I have had private and public meltdowns - it's so much to have to deal with with one person, I can't even imagine your stress with two. You're definitely not alone, and be sure to practice some form of self-care. I don't know where you live, but my mom's county's Office of Aging is saving my sanity, money, and helping to navigate the maze of getting help and plan in place.

If your loved one was admitted to the hospital seek help from the social worker there. They are often very helpful in helping a family figure out next steps.

Whatever you do don't let this destroy your wellbeing. You might start with the 24,/7 helpline for the Alzheimer's Association. The number is on this site and while I haven't called many others on this forum report that they were very helpful.
