I’m sending up the white flag and in need of some direction please

My father currently had MS dementia. He’s been exceedingly agitated and angry lately and lately and he acted out against my mother tonight and I’m panicked

I don’t know what our next steps are ; I obviously do not want this to occur again - nursing home or assisted living is in the immediate future

I’m trying to calm him down and nothing seems to be working

appreciate any information

If you or your mother is in danger, 911 is an option. For 24/7 guidance from an informed person, try the Alzheimer’s Association helpline, described here: https://www.alz.org/help-support/resources/helpline

ARIL is correct - if this happens, you can call 9-1-1 and have him brought to a geri-psych place. Let them know about his diagnosis. They can get the meds situated that he needs. You can also tell them that, upon his release, you do not feel safe taking him back home. The worker might be able to help you get him placed.

Sorry you are dealing with 'this'.
