I have kept our relationship going by keeping my mouth shut. I have learned to recognize and appreciate her lucid days. On those days, I will tell her a few things about her house. Like yesterday, I arranged for her to go by her house to look for mangoes. While there, I pointed out the condition of an exterior door and told her I have been getting quotes from painters. She agreed that it needed a paint job. Win-win!

I have not told her that I have had to call out an electrician twice to fix something, a plumber once, and an appliance repair company to repair an item in her laundry room. On those days, if I did, she would have blamed the tenant and express once more why she wanted to sell and not rent.

My husband also helps me alot by recognizing when I am trying to reason with her, and indicating to me that it is time to redirect.
