Taboo subject of divorce

Since you describe yourselves as financially OK, perhaps you could buy yourself some respite during which you could take breaks to enjoy your family and the activities you planned in retirement. This could take the shape of a day program, in-home companion aides and/or respite stays in a MCF. There was one resident at dad's MCF who lived with her DD and SIL 9 months of the year and spent Jan, Feb & March in MC while they spent the winter at their home in FL.

I have been married almost 50 years, the last 20+ have not been great I should have made changes along time ago but I didn't so now I feel like I can't. I need to see this through. She is in MC so I am not providing the day to day care any more. I feel a responsibility to make sure she gets good care. Even though the last 20 years have not been good I still care and can't walk away when she needs someone to stand for her and by her. I am going through a lot of trying to figure out what my life is about. I am married but don't have a loving wife. I feel alone even when around others. I don't know what the future hold but I am trying to figure it out. The one thing I know is that for a while at least Alzheimers is part of my future even if I don't like it. I keep trying to remind myself that God didn't promise us fun, that actually he promised trials, and I am trying to figure out how to handle this trial.
