In Loving Memory of “Jo C”

I’m reaching out, again, on behalf of my beautiful mom, Johanna “Jo C” Richardson, a passionate Peer Volunteer for nearly 20 years.
Many of you knew that Jo C had been diagnosed with a progressive lung disease a couple of years ago. The disease did progress and Mom passed away peacefully at home the evening of June 19, 2025, surrounded by her husband and children. She was in no pain and she did not struggle. It was a loving send-off. While we are heartbroken and miss her dearly, she was at peace within herself, which brings us great peace.
I’ve attached a pic of her pending obituary and a couple of other pics. Did you know she was 83 years old? If you didn’t, I hope she doesn’t haunt me for spilling the beans on her age!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such an integral and fulfilling part of mom’s life. She loved making a difference and she loved loved loved this community.
Warmly,
~Susan
(Jo C’s daughter)

Susan, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. We have enjoyed learning many things from Jo and have missed her the past year or so. I'm sorry there was not a way to communicate with you privately- I do good to.be able to post.
Your mother was loved and respected and will be missed by everyone. The picture of your mom on April 17 was so sweet. She still had that playful look that came through in her posts. Thank you again for letting us know. Everyone on our forum is better for having known your mother. May she rest in peace until we meet again in a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Thank you, Iris. Some of her staff, some years ago, made her a special sign for her office that said, “Dragon slaying upon request!” She was, indeed, an amazing advocate!♥️
