Hi friends. I haven't been on the site for a while, nor have I kept up with dementia related things. It is just over three years since I entered stage 8. So please take whatever I say with a grain of salt, and do your own research if needed. But I just wanted to pass this on in case it had not been discussed here.

For those who may not know, Pisa syndrome relates to people who cannot sit upright, and seem to be in danger of falling out of their chair. You may or may not already know this, but I was reading where some anti psychotic drugs may be responsible for this condition, so if you are affected by this condition, it might be a good idea to do a little research or talk to the doctor to see if a medication may be stopped or used at a lower dosage. If this has already been discussed, please forgive me. I hope everyone is doing well, although I know how hard it is.

Hi Ed, I was thinking about you today. I hope that you have been able to have peace and even joy again. I was hoping that I would see a post from you saying that there is life after Alz. This process is so soul-sucking. Seeing my DH continue to decline, constantly want to leave his memory care and being so confused is unbearable. The grief and sadness is overwhelming.

Hi Denise. I know it's so darn hard. I'm sorry, but I can assure you that there is life in stage 8. It took me a long time, but I'm now over the hump. Will it ever be the same as before illness? Absolutely not! But the hardest part is over. I still dream of my wife almost every night. Not bad dreams, and not necessarily good dreams, but just dreams where I'm talking to her like nothing was ever wrong. Well, I guess those are good dreams since she is never ilI. I still think of all of you very frequently, and I wish I could help, but…………….
