Welcome. This is not really a chat kind of forum. It works best to tell us you situation and the problem you are facing. You will find multiple people will comment with advice, information and suggestions over the next few days. You can then clarify or ask for more detailed information. This is a great resource. I’ve attached a couple of general resources that may be helpful.

There is a Hotline staffed with Social Workers available 24/7 on this site. Call 800-272-3900 and ask for a Care Consultants. They can assist with "right now" conversation.

Thank you for clarifying this forum…I’m a bit of a dinosaur. Also, thank you so much for the two links, very helpful indeed! I am desperately in need of communicating with someone in my position. I’m 60 years old, my mom has stage 6 Alzheimer’s and I am her soul care provider. She lives with me now and resources are very limited so I must rely on the NHTD waiver through Medicaid to care for her. I’m having extreme difficulty finding all the many services it can provide to help me care for her until the end here at my home.

    many thanks, JJ

Many places have a local commission on aging. In my area it has information and advice on all the programs available in the area. They do not provide services directly, but have a lot of information and phone numbers to get you answers. This may be helpful.

Adding to what H1235 said….I found my mother's county office of aging very helpful. In addition to a licensed case manager (who can also do assessments), they were able to direct and connect me to a wide variety of resources. In the end, I was lucky (?) that a fluke home emergency forced my mom out of the house and into a hotel then to respite care at a AL community, which is now her permanent home. But I still contact the case manager with questions and additional resources.

I agree with the earlier comment regarding calling the 800 number and reach out for support. There are many resources to help you in the right direction for your individual need(s). Alzheimer's changes daily and as the disease progresses your needed support will change as well. It is not easy. A tough disease. Love and patience. Lots of patience.
