I am outside of my church that I go to every time I see my mom at the nursing home. It's the only way I can see her and not want to escape into my old ways of addiction. She has a rash now on her face and head. I know when I kissed her, hugged her and prayed with her she opened her eyes. She used to hum when I saw her,at least I knew she was happy to see me. Now it's the eyes opening. I am so blessed I found this website to put out my feelings. Seems like none of my friends even ask how my mom is doing and so the wheel goes round and round. I know God knows what I do and he is all I need. God bless you all.

I am glad that God has given you confirmation that your mom still responds favorably to your visits.

Enjoy the visits while you can & keep thanking Him for blessing you by still having her in your life.

    🙏🏽🫂🌹

I believe that they may not know our name but they know we are someone they love. Praying for your mom and for your strength. 💜🙏

People stop asking because they don't know how to respond if we are honest about our loved ones' decline.

You are loving your mom well. People on this forum know how hard it is. One day at a time, friend. That's all God gives us and all we can take. Hold on to the One who never changes and never gives up on us!

I believe you are in the hardest time to hold on and maybe visit. I am not there yet but dread it. You are doing right by your mom, and I’m glad you have a place nearby to pray and mourn and feel.

We have a Father in heaven and we are his children. I forgot but now I remembered. He wants us to have joy in our life.
