Hello. My dad was recently diagnosed with dementia. It breaks my heart to see the changes. I am so thankful to God that he is still here but it still hurts. He is the best dad in the world. I try not to think about what the future could hold, but its difficult.

His doctor suggested we put a mobile tracker in his phone which we did. It sometimes doesnt update in real time though. Is there an app that you suggest? Thank you in advanced!

IME, Air Tags are superior to anything else in ideal conditions.

I track mom's iPhone (she tends to forget her purse when out— no dementia): the Air Tag uses a different technology that is more accurate. I found Tiles similar, or a little worse, than iPhone's "Find My app" in terms of accuracy and timely updating. Last week, mom was on vacation with my niece, and the app showed her about 300' into the bay when they were in a restaurant that overlooked it.

One caveat is that Air Tags are dependent nearby phones to work, so if he's very rural they might not be great either.

Welcome. My daughter uses life360 (not related to dementia). It is a free app. I’m not sure how quickly it updates or how accurate. If the diagnosis is recent, have you seen a lawyer yet. This was the first thing mom’s neurologist suggested.
