Affording full-time care in California

My mother has lost a lot of functionality since receiving her Lewy Body Dementia diagnosis a year ago. She now needs some help with toileting, dressing, and has shown a reluctance to eat regularly. We are concerned that she may need full-time care and that my father can't support her anymore, but the costs of care are prohibitively expensive. Does anyone familiar with how things work in California have more information about how and when she might qualify for Medi-cal?

I would speak with a Certified Elder Care Attorney familiar with CA law. There are many rules and various options based on their individual circumstances.
