Long Naps

Can I just say…I love it so dang much when my DW takes a long nap. She's at about 3-4 hours a nap every day now. I know that means she's moving along, but I do enjoy these moments of quiet. I'm happy she gets them too.

I am a bit envious! My DW won't go down for a nap unless I lay down too, and I am not a nap person. If I read or check my emails on my iPhone, very very quietly and with as little movement as possible, she immediately wakes up and won't go back to sleep. I hate to think what she will do when she goes into memory care. It's inevitable though.

Oof! My DW was like that and can be still, but more and more she's napping on her own.

Goodness I am soooo envious a 2-3 hour sleep daily I’m exhausted with my DH being awake and shadowing me constantly. He’s awake most mornings from 4am onwards I lie in bed and listen, sometimes the blankets go over my head and I get up tired dreaming of sleep 💤 put on the music make a cuppa we sit together in the garden woops here we go again.

I am also envious! Enjoy your quiet time while you can.

Talk about celebrating too soon. Napping during the day seems to have only been a little break preceding a DW wandering and collecting things all night long. Thanks dementia!
Pour one out in honor of the much appreciated napping days.

I have a love-hate relationship with long naps. I love being able to work from home quietly next to DH while we have DogTV with calming music, and I hate knowing that the long, deep sleeps that are getting longer and deeper will one day leave me sitting here alone heartbroken.

I guess you answered my question. I was wondering how the long naps affected nights and sleeping.

At first I was frustrated with his napping, but now I just enjoy it, some quiet time for me for sure. He still sleeps at night along with napping.
