Just sharing a positive/happy moment

We live in a very rural area, not close to any family, most friends have moved away or passed on. Our awesome next door neighbor just called to see if my husband would like to go watch him at his ju-jitsu class then stop for lunch after.

This same neighbor took a day off work a couple of months ago to drive me to a doctor appointment that took 5 hours.

In the midst of all that ALZ takes away I am blessed with having this neighbor.

Eve , good neighbors are hard to come by. You have a gem. I also have such a neighbor and I treasure him. He's three years older than I so we watch out for each other. He calls me morning and night to see if everything is okay. I would hesitate to ask him to drive me anywhere but he would. We both are blessed.

Ahhh, alone in the house for the first time in years. My husband hasn’t driven in about 4 years so doesn’t have the opportunity to escape me, nor I him. It’s as good for him to have time away as it is for me. He’s solidly stage 4, can walk short distances albeit very slowly, definitely struggles with aphasia, but for now can still interact with people.

I do take advantage of my neighbor in a win-win way. As I’m downsizing I’ve given him my log splitter, a pressure washer, a couple of my husband’s hunting rifles, and other odds and ends. It saves me from having to deal with the items.

I definitely know how fortunate I am and wish everyone had a “Jeff”. Thank you all for allowing me to share a positive.

Now… to do nothing for a few hours ;)

That’s one exceptional neighbour. Little rays of sunshine are so very special.
