You Might Be A Caregiver If...
My morning got me thinking of that old comedian who used to do the, "You might be a redneck if…" If anyone listened to the things I say, agree with and do on a daily basis, they would surely think I had lost my mind. Most of the time, I don't even think about these responses anymore. The simple agreement with odd phrases, questions and behaviors has become my go to and I sometimes find a bit of humor in them.
…your LO says, "I'm going to put this (milk) in this drawer." and you say, "Ok", then put it in the fridge when they turn around to some other random interest.
…your LO urgently asks, "Does road work ahead Sharon food seven nine?" and you say in all seriousness, "Yes. For sure." and she says, "Good."

CindyBum… this made me smile. When things get dicey around here with my DH, I remind myself of something I read:
DARE
DO not ARGUE
Do not REACT
Do not ENGAGE
Note: my spouse is radioactive on any given day.

Blast from the past! Thank you for chuckle
From Today
You might be a caregiver if your. DH asks you how many children they have. Or if DH looks you straight in the eye and says get the hell out of my house. Or if DH comes down the stairs wearing your pink sweater.
It’s been a day😳

Very funny way of looking at this CindyBum. I loved that bit by Jeff Foxworthy! We could all probably add to the list:
If you find a dead rabbit in your mailbox, you might be a caregiver.
If your LO says “I have to go pee”, you say “ok, let’s go to the bathroom”, LO says when you get there “what are we doing here?”, you might be a caregiver.

…thanks for the laugh Cindy!!

…your LO says, "Are we there yet?" or "I didn't think it would take this long to get there!!" — and you don't have the now adult grandchildren riding with you. So you say I decided to take a different way today and continue on the normal route to get to where you are going.

You gotta find the humor in these awful situations we are in! Thank you for the brief respit! 😂

You might be a caregiver if:
Your DH asks you “tell me your full name.”
“Dear, I know you know my name.” “No I don’t, please tell me.”Your DH asks you “are you married? Do you have any children?” (Yes dear, we’ve been married 49 years. We have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.)
Your DH asks you multiple times every 20 seconds while we’re in the car driving somewhere “where are we going?”
Your DH tells you “I think I’ll stay here with you tonight.” (Yes dear, this is where we live.)Your DH asks you where he can lie down to sleep and you show him to the bedroom and he says “I’ve never been here before.” (Yes dear, we sleep here every night.)
😊☹️😂🤣

…If you find the butter dish under the sofa cushions and a yogurt cup in the litter box 😂

…if you get up in the morning and a chair has miraculously moved to another room.

When your LO volunteers to make sandwiches and this is what she makes.😂

… if you find a chocolate bar, his wallet, and his cell phone under his side of the mattress.
… if you find a full coffee cup (thankfully with the lid on) in one of his dresser drawers.
… if you find the cat food bowl in the fridge.4 -
so close, but yet so far! 🙂

Driving by his own new neighborhood "Your mother never considered this lovely, gated community" with a sweeping hand gesture. We'd found the house working with a Realtor and brought dad to tour after the agreement of sale was signed because she wanted him to feel included.
She was following in the car behind me and when we met up at the house she said "I see your dad showed you where the new house is".4 -
Husband: Are you a Russian spy?
me: NoHusband: are you sure?
Me: yesHusband: I’m tired. Let’s go to bed 🤷♀️

When your DH (70) calls you (64) at work and is ecstatic that you're pregnant! Prescription meds were delivered to the house and he thought my meds were for pregnancy!

You might be a caregiver if you tell your PWD "Sure, go ahead" as they belligerently try to light a pretzel stick with a pair of tweezers to smoke (life long smoker whose cigs had been taken away a couple years before for safety reasons).
3 -
Congratulations on your miracle pregnancy! 😂

ir if, while she was still driving, you tell her to turn right & she starts turning left, or you tell her to turn left & she starts turning right, you are GOING TO BE a caregiver

When my DW was in MC, I brought her a latte in a thermos every morning (she loved coffee and wine). One morning I showed up with her coffee and she nonchalantly told me: "I have other men, but I love you because you are reliable".
