Hi, I'm new to the community. My mom was recently diagnosed with MCI, blood test positive for AD. It seems there may be some serious risks with the anti-amyloid therapies but do the benefits out weigh the risks? I wanted to see if anyone would share their experiences with anti-amyloid therapies (Leqembi or Kisunla).

welcome. You are at the right place for info and support. Another person just posted the same question under the Caring for a Spouse or Partner Section. There are some replies there. You can also search all the old posts on the forum using the search feature at the top of the page that looks like a magnifying glass.

While the blood test is positive for the Alzheimer’s related gene, you also need to look at how many copies of which gene she has. The greatest risk of complication is for those with two copies of the APOE4 gene. DH here has one copy of APOE3 and is month ten of Kisunla, and has had no issues. I don’t expect a cure. I hope for more time in the lower stage he is currently in.
