Sorry! I hit a key I shouldn’t have!

I run a bed and breakfast in our home. I just love doing this. It’s good for me and it’s good for my husband with AD……so far! He’s probably in Stage 5 or so. He’s still functional but needs guidance. He is able to help me in the kitchen (dishes and clean up) and really wants to! He can help me make beds, vacuum, clean. Not as well as he used to but it’s still ok. I’m hoping for one more good year, but I wonder how he will be when the busy season starts. Can you give me your thoughts? At this time, he can still handle his morning shower routine and doesn’t have problems getting dressed, although I do have to put his clothes out for him. We’ve been dealing with this for 5 years and it hasn’t progressed very quickly. Is this common for him to still be pretty good at this stage? Do you think I will be able to do it for another summer? Any thoughts would sure be appreciated.

unfortunately there is no way to know how the disease will progress. The life expectancy varies from months to over 20 years depending on many factors such as what part of the brain is affected. I would look at the behaviors in Stage 6 specifically for AD and see if he is exhibiting any of those behaviors now and consider what if he moves into some or all behaviors in Stage 6 next year. 💜
