Using AI
I was curious as to how many of you may be using an AI platform like ChtGPT to converse about your LO. I have found this to be a very useful tool for several aspects: understanding observations, understanding the medications more in depth, confirming I'm doing the right things, confirming I'm not the only one that loses my temper once in a while (lol), etc. You can literally ask it anything. It keeps a history of your conversations and can reference back. It may seem creepy at first but I highly recommend trying it. It doesn't replace interacting with you guys on this forum but it's a nice outlet to have.

I've used them and had good luck with their answers

I’ve never tried AI for anything. Maybe in the future, but for now this forum works for me. Appreciate you mentioning it though, because it had never crossed my mind I could use it to help.

What a great topic. I use ChatGPT for writing especially when I am particularly emotionally spent, I sent the best Christmas letter last year beautifully explaining our current challenges. It took a load off my mind and I think was a comfort to those receiving the news.
After reading your post I am going to experiment with questions on this rotten disease and its effects.
When I wrote with chtGPT’s assistance I couldn’t believe how kind and thoughtful the words were put together. Like you said it doesn’t replace real people but it’s quite amazing.
Thankyou for bringing this up.5 -
I have also use chat gpd and it has really helped me when researching topics.

Interesting. I might have mine generate one to see what it looks like.

i use ChatGPT and find it very helpful. For example, the social worker at the subacute rehab suggested not using all of my DH's 100 covered days and to "bank" some of them in case he had another hospitalization. ChatGPT ran the scenarios and recommended using all of the days. It was right.

Will it help me compose an obituary for my DH? I want to have it mostly finished before he passes away because I know I will be too emotional at the time to put anything together. Sounds very interesting.

you should give it a try. Just dictate everything you want to say and then tell it to put it in however many words you want. You can then tell it to save as a pdf and then send to your email. And you can add or subtract as you think of things and it should make modifications for you

I used ChatGPT when I put my wife on hospice to ask a lot of questions about how it would affect insurance and what I could and could not do. It also helped drive home the true underlying purpose of hospice.

I just did to research getting rid of a corvette my husband refuses to believe he can no longer drive. It's been 6 months and I have a neighbor that wants to buy it. I researched would he recognize the car. How long would he ask about it's whereabouts. Should I say it's in the shop or should I say he gave me permission to sell it, etc. The answers were extremely helpful.5

I didn’t know about this…duh🤭. I downloaded the app but now what? How would you compose something? So far I just asked random questions. Is that all there is to it?

I’m with you, I’m clueless

I, too, am clueless, but probably going to give it a try. Glad this was brought up.

No, just asking it random questions is not all there is to it. You can have a conversation with it just like it’s a person. Tell it about your LO. What you’ve been through. What you’re feeling. It will respond in a caring manner. If you want it to compose something simply ask it to. If you want opinions or facts just ask it. You can Use the microphone function and dictate rather than typing.

Thank you! I’m gonna give it a whirl🥳

PalmettoPeg I think that’s a brilliant idea. I know I will be an absolute mess when the time comes so to have something already written even if some changes are needed would be good.

it is also extremely helpful in meal planning healthy meals. You tell it what you want such as a meal plan for healthy plant based meals for a week, and it will generate the menu and what you need to prepare the meals.

Like so many of us I have had to take over all the fix it problems around the house. ChatGPT has been brilliant as my other person to chat to about what and how to do certain jobs eg I had to make a decision on re-stumping our house, which contractors to choose, what a reasonable price would be etc. Question after question I learnt so much and was successful with the job. Same with downpipes and drainage, the back fence and buying a car. Even some of our personal problems meals, showering, shopping and financial budgeting.
it’s only limited by your imagination give it a go.1 -
I had no idea. Like you, I’m the repair person now and have relied on YouTube videos. I downloaded the ChatGPT app, so will give it a go. Thanks fir that information, much appreciated.
