I wish you all peace
This is an extremely difficult, unexpected journey we are all on. Every day has so many challenges, it sometimes feels like the rest of life is passing us by because our loved ones and our focus have become narrower. While everyone else is getting ready for Christmas, we struggle every day to give our very best and run on low reserves. I wish you peace, personal peace, for every caregiver out there. May you find a few moments every day to breathe deeply, give yourself grace and find something in your life to be grateful for. We are all doing our very best and I want you to know we are all in this together. I wish you peace.

Thank you for your blessing of peace for us all. Just when I think I’m accepting out lot and am in a good place, I plunge back into sadness and struggle. I am not sleeping regular hours. I need my “alone time” for thinking or journaling, but hubby with Alz stays up late and sleeps late. In the am I’m cooking g and doing chores that we used to do together.

it’s 9:30 at night and we’re in bed. Been here since 6 or so just like every night. The DW mumbles and grunts. Gets up and down. Even with the meds. Then drifts into a semi conscious state where the mouth keeps going. Usually I’m forced to turn everything off by 8:30 or 9. And I can’t leave the room cuz she’ll know. Are we having fun yet?
That was a nice post retired teacher. Same to you and everyone.

Thank you for this post. Other than driving around to look at decorations, I truly can not take my DH out anymore. It is just too hard and emotionally draining. Peace to all.

Thank you for this post. With being caretaker and still needing to tend to Christmas cards and gifts, it was good to be reminded that I have another family here on Alzconnnected. This family has been and is still so very supportive. This is the family who has listened to my worries, my "dumb" questions, heard me complain, lifted me up through my tears. You are all wonderful, wonderful people. As awful as ALZ and other forms of dementia are, it gives the caretakers a place to show what they are truly capable of.
I wish you all the Blessings of this holy season.

Thank you so much for the lovely post. Hard to keep up with all the lovely people on this site . Unfortunately, we seem to be growing and growing. It’s such a terrible and wonderful thing… this group. I am so so grateful for each and everyone of you and I wish you peace, joy, comfort and any other wonderful emotion you can conjure up. @RetiredTeacher and everyone here💕💜

Beautiful post, thank you! This is a tough season to get through but we’ll make it. We always do, don’t we? There is always something to be grateful for if we make a conscious effort to think about it. Hard to do when you’re faced with sadness, frustration and loss every day. Stop, breathe, and try to focus on the little joys every day.
