It's a sad day
It's a sad day.
I was in the backyard when I heard Donna bawling. I came in to see her yelling, jumping up and down and hitting the wall with her fist. When she saw me she charged at me saying I'm going to bash your face in (she stopped short) saying that if she had a gun she'd kill me.
She's been on Quetiapine 25mg for the past 3 months. She was put on escitalopram oxalate 5mg 7 days ago.
When the paramedics got here they took her to the emergency room to get her the help she needs.
My heart is broken.

I am sorry this is happening. My DH is often angry. He is on the same medications. After his does of Escitalopram was increased to 10mg he did improve a little. It took about a week before I noticed a change. He doesn't ask me to kill him as often. I think it time we develop a tolerance for the drug and the dose needs to be increased.

@Russinator i am so sorry for what you and Donna are experiencing. I hope that doctors are able to give her something to calm her down (ongoing) and ease the emotions she must be feeling.

I’m sorry @Russinator that you both had this terrible interaction. This disease daily takes us on a roller coaster of feelings, emotions, thoughts and challenges. The way off this roller coaster is what I dread most. Hugs to you.

So sorry for this situation you find yourself in right now. How many times can our hearts break? More than we ever thought possible. I hope you can BOTH get the help you need. Sending hugs!

My heart breaks for you both. Such a difficult event to deal with during a time when we want to be celebrating joy. Just know that you have countless of us out here holding you in our thoughts and virtual arms.

Oh, Russ. I am so sorry. That must have been incredibly hard to see in your dear Donna. Big hug to you.

How very sad and scary for you! I'm so sorry for both of you. Is your Donna being seen by a geripsych doctor? My DH had to be in a geripsych unit last year because of violent behavior at his MC facility. They were able to get him on the right course of medications to help him function. Again, I am so sorry. Sending hugs and prayers.

So sorry to read your post. It’s so hard and tricky to get the right medication and dosage and each person reacts so differently. I hope you find the right doctor to help your DW. So hard for both you and her. 🙏🏻

I feel your pain. This is such a sh#tty sh#tty bang bang ride. I hope the ER and/or subsequent hospital stay will find the right meds to help calm her down and give her the help she needs. My DH went through similar so I know what you must be going through right now…no words can comfort you, just a cyber hug.

How B awful 😢 sad, rotten and unfair. My heart breaks for you and your DW. My DH has aphasia (but no bad temper) when I am in the back garden he can’t call me so he whistles my heart breaks then too. We don’t want paramedics, medication and emergency rooms we want our loved ones back. My heart goes out to you.

so sorry @Russinator
As others have said, I hope your docs can find right formula to help both DW and you! How many times can our hearts break?
Prayers and hugs to you 💝

Thank you all for those kind words and good morning. I’ve very sad but I did sleep good last night.
Our house (without Donna in it) is just a house - not a home. Last night’s sunset was specular.
