I've been sick. Now depressed and worried.
Right before Thanksgiving, a virus was going around DH MC and he got it. So did I. We both got pneumonia. This is the second time I have gotten pneumonia this year and it is really taking me down. My energy and strength are low and I am still coughing. On top of that, I have been having trouble with my legs. They tingle and ache. An EMG ( nerve conduction study) last week showed problems in both legs but mostly in my right one. At times I feel rather wobbly and off balance. I will see a back doctor on Jan. 8th and I am scared and very anxious. It seems like my health is going downhill and I don't know what to do about it. I am still trying to visit DH three times a week but it is getting harder. His health isn't great either and he has lost weight and has trouble talking. Also, my brother is in an assisted living facility and I help him as much as possible. Right now though I feel so depressed and tired that it is hard to function.

Oh @White Crane. I am so very sorry!
You need to put on YOUR oxygen mask first. Prioritizing others is not going to help anyone, least of all you.
Try to cut back on visits with DH and see if you can FaceTime with him other days, just to see him and know that he is okay. Also set up time to conference with his nurse or the charge nurse for 15 to 20 minutes to get an update. Maybe once or twice a week in between your visits.
It sounds like your brother is being looked after also. He should be okay for a week or two so you can get some strength back and find out what is happening with your back.
You are in my prayers. I know the Lord is with you and will see you through these tough times. Sending you a big hug. 💝

Hope you feel better soon. Sorry you are feeling so down. Time for chicken soup and give yourself permission to stay home and rest.

One of my favorite sayings is “you can’t pour from an empty cup”. Time to priortize your own care. Easier said than done but necessary. {{{Hugs}}}

I’m so sorry. You need rest and someone to take care of you for a change. The toll visiting alone takes on you has to be rough and then throw in the emotional and now your physical illnesses…. it’s too much. I know it’s easier said than done but try to scale back even more and take time for yourself. Recovering from pneumonia alone is very hard. I know how you feel in regards to pain. It seems to be a cycle because pain and fatigue and feeling depressed all go together. I try mightily with this and fail….but then keep trying. I lost 50lbs in a short time so I’m trying to eat and drink healthy. I try to use my treadmill and bike more when DH is still. Sleep is hard but I’m using a sound machine and stretching more. For depression I listen to music and just may take up guitar lessons. It’s all so unbelievably difficult to muster through. Prayers and hugs for you!💜
