Looking for Support Here

Hello all,

I have some form of dementia that may be vascular or Alzheimers. I have had the ususal tests, MRIs, blood work for biomarkers, PET scan and consultation with well respected neurologists in Northern Virginia.

I am looking more for support both emotionally and in terms of locating resources for support available in my region.

I am not interested in getting into a debate on whether my decisions and the advice of my neurologist are idiotic, wrong-headed or whatever. And I do not seek judgement from others who have opinions based on a few sentences in my posts. That's been my very limited experience so far.

If anyone can point me in the direction of resources, I would be most grateful.

Thank you for sharing this—what you’re navigating is a lot, and it’s completely understandable to look for both emotional support and practical guidance. You’re not alone, and there are supportive resources in Northern Virginia, including local Alzheimer’s Association chapters, memory-care support groups, and the Area Agency on Aging, which can help connect you to counseling, care coordination, and community programs.
