Please don’t allow people with dementia to live alone or put them in ALs. They are not watched 24/7. This is the 4th case in the last few weeks. Just because they have never wandered before doesn’t mean they won’t. They can wander at any time. This is so sad! 😭 CLEARWATER – Detectives have issued a Purple Alert for 58-year-old Troy Angelo Graves.According to detectives, Graves was last seen on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Landmark Assisted Living Facility at 3260 McMullen Booth Road in unincorporated Clearwater. Graves was observed by staff leaving the facility on foot at 2:58 A.M. Graves is described as a white male, 5’5’ tall, and 180 pounds.

So sad and alarming. I remember when my grandmother was lost. ( not dementia but maybe it was). She had a heart problem and we found her in the flower bed against the house. All of us were losing our minds with worry after 4 or 5 hours. They are so so vulnerable 😪

so very sad! I was talking with a friend today whose mother has AD. Leaves her home while she goes to work. Has friends check on her a couple times a day. I said no way I could leave DH alone! I gave her a couple of examples of some of his ‘antics’ and why I watch him 24/7.

Thanks @SDianeL. A grim reminder of how vulnerable our LOs are.

If he was observed by staff leaving the facility on foot at 2:58 am, why didn't one of the staff go and get him and bring him back? That's gross negligence.

I agree! But my moms facility told me she was free to come and go as she pleases and reminded me it was not a locked facility. She never left, but I was often worried about it. She is in a locked facility now. I think it’s common for people to overestimate the care available in Al. I know I did.
