I see a lot of discussions out there about sleep or lack thereof. If meds like Seroquel or lorazepam or whatever isn’t quite working I suggest you ask about trying temazepam. It comes in 15 and 30mg doses. I’ve been using the 30mg for DW now for a couple of months and it hasn’t let me down. At first she woke up pretty groggy but after a few days no grogginess. Sleeps all through the night. Runs around all day but that’s another issue - lol.

Thank you. Never heard of that one. Could be very useful.

@wose Temazepam is a benzo sometimes prescribed for short-term insomnia. It has all the risks and downsides of other medications in this class including addiction and developing a tolerance that can make it less effective over time.

For someone in the later stages of the disease, this could be useful but for someone not so far along in the disease progression it might not be.

@persevere I'm glad you found something that helps your wife rest. It's hard when a PWD is on the move 24/7. There were a couple ladies at dad's MCF who were constantly in motion— it was hard on their families to visit with them or get them to eat.

Thanks Harsh. Good comments on temazepam. Just met with hospice today, trying new approach. And yes, eating is a problem right now. And it’s getting worse. If anyone has suggestions in this area, I’m all ears.
