Incontinence bed pads
DH fell and is in rehab. He was continent before the fall, but I want to be prepared for when he comes home. I am currently looking at bed pads - both washable and disposable. Does anyone have a recommendation?

I ordered a set of 4 from Walmart. They're large and washable. Not expensive.

I have a Cosy House Collection bamboo mattress protector. It’s amazing and washable. Neither of us even notice it being on the bed. It has saved my mattress more than once.

Amazon has them in different sizes. Also get a mattress cover that the mattress goes into so that the top, bottom and sides are all protected. Layer the sheets and pads for quick change at night.

Diane's suggestions are right on. I did that setup also. Makes changing faster and easier. Layers, mattress size washable pads and disposable pad last, as long as tolerated. My dear wife rejected the disposable ones on top until later in her progression. If your husband is a candidate for hospice, they will provide some of what you may need.

We already have that on the bed. It's so unnoticeable that I was questioning if it would work. Is that the only protector you have? I was thinking I'd need something over it.

The mattress protector is very important but I wanted something on top of that for quick washing so I didn’t have to pull the protector off each time. I used this under the sheet - it tucks in under the mattress so it held pretty well.
I also had a couple of large washable pads.
Not sure how far you want to go but I bought several of these in different colors to put on chairs and car seats because DH wasn’t always willing to change his wet pull-ups. They saved my furniture more than once!1 -
it is the only one I have. I have been surprised when it has gotten quite wet and the mattress is still dry. It most likely depends on on the amount of fluid.
