Could a reversal in ALZ stage be possible

My MIL was diagnosed with Alzheimers 5 years ago and is in moderate stage but physically healthy. She was very aggressive, angry and delusional but recently as of mid Dec, I see a change in her behaviour where she is much calmer now. Earlier she used to be rummaging in her cupboard accusing us of taking her stuff, cursing and constant complaining about food. But I see a significant decline in the complaints. In 2018, there were two incidents of her wandering but since 2019 that also has improved.  Her memory loss situation is still the same for two years. But overall I see a reversal in symptoms where she is a bit more alert. She has been taking Memantine for the last one year but her behaviour was unbearable until mid Dec. My question is could this be possible in AlZ, is this a temporary phase or calm before the storm?

This is very common. Symptom will improve for a while and then get worse again. Enjoy it while you can.

It's nice that your MIL is now easier to deal with. Good for you! Unfortunately this is probably a phase or it could be a sign of progression. Either way, it's temporary. I'm sorry this disease is so awful.
