Ativan helps w/ the anger but what helps with restlessness?

My ADLO struggles with aggression, paranoia & extreme restlessness. We have a local doctor that is very willing to work with us on meds (as I understand it people with AD respond differently) and we have tried a few different options.

Ativan (Lorazepam) works pretty well to take the aggression down, but the problem we are running into is we can't seem to find something that will help with the paranoia & particularly the restlessness.

They are hyper aware of everything, never want to just sit down and need near constant attention. By attention I mean they can't just be in the room with you, they need to be 2-3ft from you, having a constant conversation and their hands in everything you are doing.

We have tried Seroquel, but that seems to put them into a state of delirium.

Can anyone recommend anything that have seen work for the restlessness & excess energy?

My DH has also had problems with anxiety, paranoia, restlessness which all seem like forms of agitation to me. If the Seroquel didn't work in your case, maybe suggest another drug. My DH had good luck with Zyprexa, which is another anti-psychotic ---- he still sundowns and gets agitated in the evenings, but it really helped take the edge off. It doesn't send him into delirium at all (although his doctor has kept the dosage fairly low to avoid sedating him since he is also a fall risk.) Other posters will probably chime in on what has worked for them, but the point is that often some trial and error is needed before finding what works.

It's definitely hard to find that balance between finding something effective and not creating a fall risk. The issue in my situation is the restlessness is paired with vigilance, so it's a particular struggle to find something that makes them want to sit still and not create an issue with falling because they are so determined to constantly be moving around.

I will be curious to see what others post.
