A tragic story and warning

A 95 year old man residing in an assisted living facility shot and killed one of the workers. The news report provided no details. I would not be surprised if there is a history of dementia or delusions.

I have to ask, how and why did this man have a gun in assisted living? Yikes. Lots of posts here about caregivers locking up guns and even kitchen knives, we all know that people with dementia don't process things clearly. This should never have happened. If he was in assisted living, he must have had some cognitive and/or physical limitations that require some degree of supervision.0

My parents’ ASL has a no guns sign prominently displayed at the front door. However, I know they didn’t inspect my parents furnishings etc or their vehicles. They would only know of a guns existence if the housekeeping staff saw one during their weekly cleaning.
This is sad.
