me: God's commands are not given to make us suffer. Remember, Jesus our Lord said, His burden for us is light. Since He created us and wants a close relationship with each one of us, His commandments are for His glory, our own happiness and for our own good. When we obey Him, we are able to have an intimate friendship with Him. He walks with us, talks with us, blesses us, and guides us. When we love and obey God, we live our best life!

 

Take Away:  Let's ask the Lord enables us to find joy in our relationship with Him and in the work He gives us.

I was thinking, as I read your thoughts for today, Sis, that the thing that makes a burden a burden is the mind.

When I work in my yard or in my garage, I enjoy myself so much that even if I am bone tired at the end, I feel good.  The reason has nothing to do with the physical weariness, but the pleasure I get from doing those kinds of work.

My experiences with the Lord's  burdens are the same. If I go into something with a grumpy " I don't want to do this " attitude, then low and behold - it instantly becomes a heavy burden.

On the other hand, when I accept His commandments with pleasure, they become a joy, and my burden is light.

Very light indeed.
