Benefit of therapist or Psychologist for husband

My 65 year old husband was diagnosed with younger onset about 3 years ago, as things are getting progressively worse I’m thinking it would be helpful for him to talk to someone like a therapist to help him deal with what’s happening, I’m not sure if he would even agree to it but I would like to hear others thoughts and experiences, thanks

In order for him to get benefit from seeing a therapist he has to first recognize that he is having cognitive difficulties.  Many people with dementia have anosognosia, the inability of a broken brain to recognize that it is broken.  They will deny anything at all is wrong with them, even when presented with the 'evidence.'
