What to do?(8)

Long story short, my mom wasn’t being taken care of at home. Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2019. SD in denial, still letting mom take her own meds and handle her own personal care. He fired CG after 10 days so I moved mom in with me. Over a month now and have no financial help, mom can’t tell me anything anymore-no idea who she banks with or where any of her $ goes. SD is also not telling me. I do have POA and am working on getting access to accounts, I’m just extremely frustrated that he hasn’t even asked if I need help or anything about long term plan. I can’t do live in long term as I have a family and own a business with my husband. Is it wrong of me to look for MC near me and get mom established here where I live? No way will I let her go home to the way things were. She can barely hold a short conversation so I would never really know how she is. Sorry for the rant-frustrated daughter

Hi Ammo and welcome. How difficult, it's good you have that poa. It may be difficult to disentangle their finances as a married couple however-do they have joint accounts? You may need an attorney for this, as you may need to set up separate accounts for her (for social security direct deposit for example) so that he does not squander her funds. Good luck-

Uh, I'd be ranting too, Ammo! You're in a frustrating position. You have the legal ability to start sorting out the finances for current and future need but nobody's working with you to get there.

I think it smart to start vetting MCs now. It's not a good time to place your mom when you're desperate for any old bed that opens up.
